Nice looking '56 Fireflite sedan found on Craigslist: https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rds/cto ... 13351.html
1956 Desoto Fireflite
A rare classic car. When was the last time you saw a Desoto on the road?
Four door sedan, 330 cu. in Firedome hemi V8, four-barrel carb, 255 hp, 2-speed push-button Powerflite automatic transmission, fabulous power steering, power brakes, factory power windows. Two tone blue and white. This vehicle drives as well as it looks and it is in beautiful condition. Part restored and part original. 65 pieces of chrome were removed and plated to show quality two years ago. Large 'V' on front grill is gold plated. All other metal on this car is stainless steel and in excellent condition.
Extra-large factory 12" X 2 ½" drum brakes all round, new shoes on front brakes, dual wheel cylinders on front brakes, single wheel cylinder on rear brakes. New white wall radial tires and original rims with factory stainless full wheel discs. The interior is like new with new carpet and restored to original seat/door coverings. Original AM radio works with new replacement 6 X 9 speaker. New OE carpet in trunk. Factory tinted glass is in perfect condition.
The hemi in this car allows it to easily keep up with modern cards on the freeway. Plenty of power, steering is solid. Brakes are good. This car was in the 2015 4th of July parade in Point Roberts, WA and 2017 Ladner Car show. I receive many invitations to participate in parades, car shows, etc. along with waves, thumbs up, honks etc. whenever I drive it around. Desoto Fireflite was the Indianapolis pace car in 1956 and a favourite of police departments across the USA in 1956 because of the hemi engine and large brakes. Aftermarket parts are readily available for Desotos from a wide range of US suppliers.
