Found on Craigslist: https://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/d/ ... 09520.html

Reluctantly, due to retirement and downsizing we must part with our classic, original 1953 DeSoto Firedome sedan. This vehicle was manufactured in Detroit, Michigan, always garage kept and is rust free. The exterior 'Midnight Blue' paint is 85% and shiny. The original gray mohair upholstery, door panels and headliner are clean and free of rips, tears or stains (with the exception of a small wear hole in the driver's door panel). This DeSoto is equipped with the original 276.1 cubic inch displacement, historic, early HEMI V8 that develops 160 horsepower. The car has no trouble keeping up with highway traffic. Unlike most Chrysler vehicles of this era, this DeSoto has a very rare, column-mounted manual three speed transmission with overdrive. This feature provides more performance and greater reliability than the 'tip-toe-shift' M-6 transmission common in most 1953 DeSotos.
The odometer shows 35,000 thousand miles. Over the past six years of ownership it has been on tours, in local parades and shows including the 2016 DeSoto National Meet in Timonium, Maryland. It also appeared in the Motor Trend International Auto Show at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland. The car performs well. The engine is very smooth and quiet--never overheats, the clutch has easy action, the transmission shifts easily, overdrive operates as it should. The brakes are excellent, no pulling and the car stops well. The clock keeps good time (an extra NOS clock comes with it). The AM only radio is temperamental, and a spare comes with the car that can be rebuilt. The gauges are clear, all work, as do both cigar lighters and the lights. The car comes with the original bullseye headlamps. All in all, this DeSoto is a 64-year-old rolling piece of history.
Asking price is $16,500 or best reasonable offer. It could easily cost more than that amount to restore a lesser, high mileage vehicle. Buyer is responsible for transport costs if any.
