Car was running when previous owner started restoration. Missing gas tank and running boards. Has all chrome and decals. Frame, rear end and engine reworked. Left rear doorpost base rusted out. 1949 De Soto Custom Convertible (project)
Wondering if this car/parts package was ever sold. Am I right in assuming that this car was owned by Randy and Pat Milbrandt? I visited Randy in the early 90s ( I think) and had a chance to see the car and hear the family story. What I remember was the 42 Dodge steering wheel on the car. As this car was originally owned by Pat's mother and passed on to them, we figured that perhaps this was one of the examples of cars built towards the end of production where whatever was available was installed to get it out the door.
