The vehicle is located in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. I’m not the owner; just trying to facilitate the sale for the owner’s benefit. It belonged to her late husband, who gave me a ride in it to and from a music festival in the summer of 2022, about 30 miles each way, so it ran solid then.

Her asking price is $14K, pretty sure she's ready to negotiate.

I'm not a car guy, but I'll upload some pics and my contact info and try to find answers to any questions you have.

Any serious interest, I'll pass on your contact information and get out of the way.

Also, any feedback about how to go about finding a buyer.

Thanks,

Dave Maleckar

Dave,

While not the timeliest route, you could submit a one-time free "lead" ad for the NDC magazine. The current ad submission window is for the January-February magazine with a deadline of November 22. While it will take some time to get to print, it's also a great route to go because it reaches a DeSoto audience, it's free, and she shouldn't have to deal with scammers like you get through an internet ad. To submit one, you'll need to send the ad with appropriate contact info and price to the ad editor at des4us @ centurylink.net (without the spaces).

Another route that would be faster, but less focused and more expensive, would be to put an ad in Hemmings.

If speed is the concern, then either Facebook Marketplace (be ready for scammers and tire kickers) or an online auction site like eBay might be the way to go.

Best of luck selling!

David

Dave....thanks for sharing the lead. Relatively plain pre-war cars are not currently seeing high demand. Just FYI.  You may want to tell the seller she may need to adjust her price if they really want this car gone.  I know there is sentimental value involved, however, sentimental value does not unfortunately translate to real value.

@davidfrank

David and Mark:

Thanks. I'll follow up on your suggestions. I don't think sentimental value is the issue, and accepting a lower offer sure beats letting the vehicle sit in the yard.

Dave
