32 Desoto SC Sedan. Starts and runs great, until.... after getting thoroughly warmed up it starts to miss and stall, especially at high revs....trying to figure out if its electrical, fuel , or maybe vacuum? And how to figure it out....Any advice would be appreciated.
Minor victory of sorts this week, managed to get water pump out to rebuild it- almost had to take whole front end off to remove it- managed to just loosen hood rods (on top) that hold radiator so that I could push out of the way to get pump off, barely. Had to cut an offset wrench to get the fan blades off. Thanks to 32 advisors for help on this...
Lynn, did you make any headway on this?
It's supposed to be fun!

Tim, Sent pump to Egge Machine to rebuild it. On the way to California the post office broke the impeller:( Anyways, Egge has rebuilt it and is sending it back. Will reinstall and go forward. But no progress on the other problem I described. I'm suspecting some electrical problem that is causing coil to get hot and start acting flaky. At a loss where to look and how to look.
Received rebuilt pump from Egge machine. They made a new impeller to replace the one USPS broke, and put new bushings, shaft and nut on it. Installed today and no leaks after 20 minutes of driving in hot weather. The other problem still to be tackled, although it didnt appear in 20 minutes of hot driving...
sounds like forward progress!

Maybe the condenser is going bad. They can work until they get hot and fail causing misfires and stalling.
