Hi Guys!  My name is John.  I am new here.  I have a 1938 S5 Business Coupe.  I am having the engine and transmission rebuilt.  The manual BorgWarner overdrive is TOAST.  Anyone have one or know where I can get one?  Many thanks from Red Rock, Texas.

You could see if this guy has any transmissions since he just posted about two engines he is going to be selling for a '38: https://desoto.org/community/general-discussion/1938-desoto-s5-sedan-motors-for-sale/

If he doesn't have one, try calling the Transmission Clinic in Greenville, South Carolina. The owner, Tim Jacobs, is a fellow NDC member and owns a 1937 and 1938 DeSoto. He may be able to help source one or rebuild yours. (864) 246-6870

Once you receive your welcome letter and magazine, I'd also suggest contacting the 1938 tech advisor and you can also place a free "parts wanted" ad in the magazine as well.
