Hey Guys, who can I contact to read the codes on the firewall data plate on a 55 DeSoto 4 door sedan?  Getting information for a new DeSoto owner and trying to get him to join the club.  Thanks for your help.

Mark Kubanick is the technical advisor for model year 55 so I suggest contacting him. His email is mark.kubanick@gmail.com  and his phone is 502-797-8555

@stevejensen I might be able to help with some of the codes. I can do most/all of the '56 codes, so I'd be able to do anything that is the same.

For the record, for anyone else watching this thread, here was my email reply to Steve:

Steve,

Here is my decoding to the best of my ability. The colors and interior I pulled from a '55 document posted in this thread:  https://desoto.org/community/general-discussion/1955-desoto-trim-codes/

Model TP: This is on all '55 tags and some '56 tags (before transitioning to just "P"). I assume this means "DeSoto".
Body 25: I don't have the '55 code sheet, but this would be the specific model/body, which would be "Firedome 4-door sedan" in this case.
Paint 410-2: Black roof/sweep & Carnival Red body with two-tone sweep.
Trim 457: Grey cloth & ivory vinyl
TR 3: Powerflite automatic
HR 5: All-weather (water) heater
EC 1: Electric clock
SFONO 25: Always the same as "Body" number above
SCHED 114: Scheduled to be built on the 114th day of production, which is approximately February 11, 1955
Body No. 24386: This is the 23,386th Firedome sedan built in Detroit for the 1955 model year.
PB 5: Power brakes
SG 1 (I had a hard time making out if it was a "G" or "C" so this is based on it being a "G"): Solex (tinted) glass

I hope this helps and it certainly confirms his hunch on the original colors.

David
