I’m on the hunt for parts for my 1960 DeSoto adventurer.
im needing the center disc for the air cleaner, the fender moulding for the front passenger fender ( I have the spear shaped piece that goes at the front of the moulding), and I’m needing a set of knobs for the original radio, as well as the “good ornament” piece that goes at the very front of the hood.
if anyone has any of these parts gathering dust, please feel free to contact me.
I have 2 air cleaners and also knobs for the radio. When you say "ornament piece, do you mean the chrome piece or just the plastic part with symbols on it.
I have some holes on the very from of the hood, in front of the crease in the center of the hood, so I’m guessing there should be an emblem there?
I’ll attach a photo in a bit
The clear plastic front of the radio is not great either so I could use a better radio lens.
And I forgot to mention I need a good release handle and cable; on mine the inner cable has broken off near the front hood release.
This is what goes on the hood. There is a chrome piece with a plastic insert.
interesting; as you can see by the photo I posted of my hood, there are no holes in the hood crease for that piece of trim, but I have the holes in front of that location which appear to be original; weird.
My car is a Canadian car if that makes any difference
A good observation. The Canadian car must have a different hood treatment. I suggest polling the Facebook group to see if there is a Canadian built DeSoto out there that can reveal the trim you are missing.
@toddpuzey I suspect your hood is off of a '60 Chrysler. The hood (for a short wheelbase Chrysler) is exactly the same as the DeSoto, except that it has a "Chrysler" script on the front instead, which would coincide with the holes there. In fact, it looks like you can make out "Chrysler" in the paint where the emblem used to be.
@Regisbodnar there were four(?) Canadian '60 DeSotos at the Chatham convention last year and all had the same emblem and bezel as your car.
Interesting; I agree I think I can see “LER” at the end of where the holes are.
if the hood was switched it had to be early as the paint matches the car exactly including under the hood, and the car is in original paint.
I have a complete air cleaner for $45 and a radio with knobs (no faceplate) for $55.
I willnot sell part of the air cleaner or just the knobs from the radio.

Shipping with Fastenal might be less costly for larger items. Are you near any of these locations
the Airdrie location is pretty handy.
Hey Regis, I’m looking for a trunk lock with key for my car as well if you have one.
I don't have a trunk lock. Did you receive the list of items that I have for sale?
