I have a used, but did run recently Desoto engine from 1955/ 1956 six cylinder. It is said this engine was used in taxis of these years. I believe it to be a decent engine and only want $150. Contact me at 978.546.9309 
That's quite a find - didn't know DeSoto had a six cylinder engine in the '55 or '56 models - maybe only taxis?
