Are you headed towards a new interior? If so, I'm not sure I would spend much energy looking for old panels. Unless they have stainless trim on them or something.

Your upholstery guy should be able to create new panels from scratch. Sourcing images of the panels would be a big help.

How are you on interior door handles and window crank handles?

It's supposed to be fun!

Thanks Tim.

Very good advice. Yes, my upholstery guy is making new panels for me. And yes, both cars are getting new interiors. One already has near-new naugahyde seat covers--very nice condition, but not quite period-correct, but good enough. Kind of a dusty blue. The door panels are completely missing on this car, but I can get the patterns from my other '42. I have two set of door handles and window cranks, but I still need another set for car #2. And I do have a very nice, completely restored '42 club coupe (photo attached) which has a very nice, but not completely correct interior.

Let's see if I can get photos of DD1 and DD2 attached here.....

I always struggle to get photos attached. Photo of DD1 didn't make it; that was DD2.

I'm going to try DD1 again (she the already restored '42), and then a photo of DD3 (she is currently a '46 Club Coupe, now in the process of being converted to a '42--new front end, new tail lites, '42 deck lid, and other '42 stuff.

Wish me luck on the photos.

First DD1

Jon;

You should be able to attach multiple images to your posts. Check out this FAQ and see if you're following the steps I've laid out. Notice especially step 3.

I'm jealous of your '42s. My dad has a '42 Custom Sedan, but I don't think it's going to pass down to me someday. Wish it would.

It's supposed to be fun!

OK, one more try.

I know it isn't a DeSoto, but at least it's Mopar!

That's beautiful! I have one in my queue of vehicles to restore. As a kid my trombone teacher had one (and still has it).

They are beautiful. One of my favorite front end treatments.

It's supposed to be fun!
