I need to pull my car up a few feet. I don't want to mess anything up or bend something. I have Ranger pick-up that I want to pull it out with. What should I use? A chain? And where to attach it under the front clip? Is there some kind of protective material I should use to prevent the tow line from damaging it?
Thanks.
How 'bout offering some friends a beer or something if they come over and help you push?
It's supposed to be fun!

David, on the rare occasion I have to tow my '52 I use a towing strap and attach it to a bumper brace.
Odd thing to talk about.........but..............I had to tow my '52 home on Sunday. I was on my way to a car show, 30 miles away, and it died. I had a hunch it was the fuel pump. When I popped the hood, I did not smell any gas at all.
I had a spare pump with me, but no tools. Luck would have it, there was a tavern a block away (lots of them here in Wisconsin), but nobody had tools. So I called my wife, and she came to the rescue, and towed me home.
I too put the strap on the bumper brace. It was about a 10 mile tow.
Put on the new pump, and was back on the road in no time......with a few tools this time.
