I would be putting in NON DETERGENT OIL
Hello All
After a few questions of this & that ... the straight 30W oil container you see
was used to add some drops to the back side of The Generator and to The Distributor lub points. I think the Oil Bath Air Cleaner may also have some of
the same type of "new oil" in it too.
Do you think it will harm the engine or generator by the time he gets to Maine ?
If so what will "new oil" do ?

In Denver all the fluid for The Cooling System was re-moved and The Cooling
System was re-filled with never used ( opened ) fluid. They have spare new
Cooling Fluid.
This was also done with The Brake Fluid. They have new spare never been
opened Brake Fluid.
On an like subject they did open and check The Fluid Drive Unit while in COS.
They took with them an liter bottle of Hydralic Oil that was taken from an new
never opened before 5 gallon container that I have. I tried to give them the
5 gallon container but they have no room ( look at the back seat of the two
photos that was taken while they was at WalMart ) so the liter bottle was taken
( just if needed between here and there ).

Trying to get the Carryall to stop misfiring, I head over to Lakin Automotive for more parts.
I met Kelly and Galen who run this Car Quest Franchise and I cannot share enough wonderful feelings for these two folks. They not only helped me out with parts I'd needed, they offered me to drive into the garage where it was lit and warm.
Unfortunately, we were there all day with ignition problems. We had bad wires going into the distributor. But was able to get it somewhat fixed using some farm materials.
We are still needing a correct set of points and distrubutor cap but will try to head east across Kansas on Highway 50/400 and then up 56 tomorrow (Saturday)
Inside the shop of Lakin Automotive

Wow, if you're coming east on 56 you're going to drive practically right by my shop and also through McPherson where I live, but tomorrow I leave for Austin TX so I won't be able to cheer for you or make myself available, either.
If you need to, call me on my cell at (620)-489-6495 and I can at least provide some potentially helpful assistance with names of people that might be able to be helpful in my absence.

You'll also pass by my place if you keep your current course. I'm 3 miles south of 56 between Edgerton and Gardner. I have a heated shop with a lift and spare parts and a 48 parts car, maybe even a new cap somewhere plus 2 spare bedrooms. Call if you need help or info. c 913-645-8169, h 913-856-4316. Safe travels!
P.S. This may sound strange to anyone who has never experienced it but there is something magical about the isolation of western Kansas!!
