Can someone tell me what these 2 plates mean?
D-992-S found on passenger side floor board.
BCS 2402 found on the passenger side front frame rail. Also, has date of 05.05.72.
On the floor board and frame rail of what?
Can you include a picture?

Sorry, 1929 DeSoto deluxe K series 4dr.
The tag on the floorboard might very well be the body number, while the tag on the frame rail with a '72 date might be a state assigned number to provide a VIN because paperwork had been previously lost and someone was trying to register the car. Does the number BCS 2402 show up on your title for the car?
Used to be in Kansas that if you didn't have a title for an old car they would rivet a new, ugly looking tag to the car and assign a new i.d. number for titling purposes.

Have a Oklahoma title but #'s don't match anything on title.
Could the same BCS # be from Okla?
Most states up until '54 used the number on the engine as the VIN. Look for a flat embossment on the left side of the engine, right under the head gasket at the very front and see if you find a stamped number there that corresponds to your title.
But that's not answering your question about the other numbers you found.
On the main menu on the left side of the page you'll see "resources". There you'll find our list of Tech Advisors for each of the model years. Look for the contact info for '33 and get in contact with him. Typically they are available evenings and weekends for phone calls. Of course you can send an email anytime....
