Good morning everyone,
I have a 1946 Desoto, S11, and what type fluids would I use in the fluid drive, transmission, and clutch if needed, and engine oil weight please?

Stop at any Tractor Supply, Petrolum Supply Point or NAPA
to get some Hydraulic #34 Fluid from them. This is what goes
into your F luid Drive. Since you do not fully know the history
of the older fluid drain it and do it rigt. Remove the cover
on the front lower of the Bell Housing, from the Passenger Door
Side Pull The Floor Material back enough to see the Floor Pan,
Re-Move It. You will now see the Bell Housing with a Large
Plug - Remove it so that you know see the Fluid Drive. Slowly
"bump" the engine until you see a Plug on The Fluid Drive.
WARNING if you drop this, you will need to take the Bell Housing
out to get it back. Now rotate the engine so that all the old fluid
drips out .
Now after the drippingstopps rotate the unit until you see the
Fluid Drive Hole through the Bell Housing Hole. Add the new #34
Hydraulic Fluid until it flows out the top. Replace all the plugs -
bolts and etc. Do Not forget to clean all the mess that has been made.
For the Transmission, drain the old from under the Passenger
Side of the car, on the side of the Transmission. It is the lowest
Plug with with a Sq Head. The "Add Plug" is just above it.
Do Not Touch the highest plug. The Transmission used a straight
10W Non-Detergent Engine Oil ( mine still has the tag stating this ).
As you plan/ start doing any of this, do it in a safe manner so your
local rescue team does not need to visit you.

I use a straight 10 wt.non detergent motor oil in my trans and torque converter. And a straight 30 wt non detergent motor oil in the engine.
I use the same as Rick for my 50 Imperial and for my 51 DeSoto when I still had it
