Here's a post from Big M Auto in California from another site. He's a great guy to deal with.
"I have two nearly complete, some rust on both, former city of San Francisco Yellow cabs. Both are missing the jump seat, but otherwise mostly complete.
- $2500 for the pair, will e-mail photos on request."
Unless he has aquired two more 1946-1948 Long WheelBase Desoto's that information is not quite correct.
I know the guy he purchsed them from as I passed on them at that time. They are Desoto Limo's not Taxi's or Suburbans. They are in very very rough shape.

Thank you for the clarification, James.
Hope someone can make use of these great old cars.
(Just want to mention that "Big M" John isn't a DeSoto guy as such, and I'm sure he didn't intend any misrepresentation when he called these cars taxis. I just didn't want anyone to think that he wasn't being honest. I've done business with him several times, and I've always found him to be one of the "good eggs".
I buy stuff from him all the time. Nice yard and good guy to deal with.
Many people confuse the three body styles.
