Hola All
When changing from a Three Speed Manual to a 1966 or newer Automatic Transmission ( 1960 ) is it possible to re-use any of the three speed column
items?
If so what are they ?

Sure it can be done with enough engineering. You mentioned a 66 or newer TF then wrote 1960. Which is it? Is the car a 60? The cast iron TF was cable shifted and had no park. The early aluminum TF , 62 up, were cable shifted and had a separate park until 64/65. 66 up all had linkage shift and with park plus a slip yoke drive shaft. The best bet would be 66 up and use a modern cable with brackets on the column and trans. See the first few paragraphs of this article: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissio ... -hand.html
One minor problem would be a PRNDL indicator. There is such a thing as a kit that has a pushbutton panel with an electric actuated shifter. I put one in a 61 Dodge with a modern automatic and it worked great. I looked around and I don't think they make it anymore but maybe you could find a used one.

Yes I know the 1960 MoPar's all used The Push Button's if it was equiped with
the automatic.
The original question asked to me was, " ... hey if I take out this manual can
I put in a 727 from a 1972 New Port ... ".
They do know not many manuals were sold in 1960 for a car that had a 361
and are not concerned . If I remember correctly they are saying the second
gear slips out when you do not hold The Shift Lever with your hand.
Not having Visual Transmission Indicators of what gear selections is not needed.

On a side note several months ago we were taking about water passages or
no water passages on some In-Take Manifold. I spouted off the wrong answer
to you. My answer should have be with water passages.
Thank You for never saying that I had given you "back of the class-room" data.

It appears as if my "gotta measure and bend and ~ myself" thoughts are equal
to what you just said with the linkage.
We located a 1962 Imperial Division Automatic with the Emer Brake bolted to
the rear --- but no shift cable or buttons. Lack of older transmissions under
tarps or in sheds is what lead to newer automatic's.
I know of a 1961 Dodge "car" with the ( frozen in time ) Slant Six that had a
manual. The linkage is still laying in the back. Hmmmmmmnn.

Hope we get to see all of you in Saint Elmo for The Annual De Soto Convention.
We enjoyed speaking with you last year in July's Convention.
