Was online looking at pictures of '56 DeSotos and discovered that our previous restoration of the pink/lavender car is coming back up for auction at the RM sale in Arizona in January.
Will be interesting to see what happens this time....
It's supposed to be fun!

Beautiful car, Tim.
What happened the last time?
Wish I could take it home with me.
Thanks!
The owner that we restored the car for sold it at the Monterey Russo and Steele Auction in 2008. From the auction reports out of Hemmings it was reported as a sale at $137,500.
Russo and Steele auctions are supposed to be reserve auctions, so I've always wanted to assumed that if it was reported as sold, then it met reserve and the sale was successful.
Everybody gets worked up about Barrett-Jackson auction prices, but B-J acknowledges that 30% of its auctions are seller buy-backs, so I'm cynically skeptical about any auction price that seem to defy logic. While it's nice to be able to brag about our restoration selling for such a high price, I've always wondered why someone would pay that much for a '56 Fireflite 2 door hardtop.

Thanks for the reply, Tim. Wow...that price does make one wonder.
Still, the car is very nice!
I just hope the car finds a nice home and settles for awhile. I remember my wife bought her pink/gray '56 about the time you were finishing up the restoration on this one. Although hers is a nice solid 3+ driver with factory A/C, its no high end show car, but then again she enjoys driving and showing it locally, and I don't think she'll ever part with it. Its sad to see some of these nice cars just flipped constantly as a commodity.
