Hi,
I am searching for a few parts for my 49 deluxe.
What I need is: hand brake cable, brakehose front ( need one, but OK if it is a pair ), three rubbers for tie rod end and one tie rod end completely.
If anybody has these parts please let me know. I would like to buy it at once because parts have to be shipped to Europe.
Please let me know.
Hello Alex,
On the left side of this website there is a list with activities etc
if you touch vendors there is also mentioned Andy bearnbaum
he sells most of the articles you need
Because your coming from Europe payment is a little difficult In europe we do not use checks etc
I used Paypal you need a credit card to use it
Nowadays it is also possible to use your own bankaccount nr in combination with paypal
But i think it is better to use a credit card with a limited max amount , this for safety
lots of articles can also be found on ebay
look for cars and parts desoto 49
succes gr Peter boudesteiujn
I am hoping someone on this site may have a parts car where all the parts come from and who is willing to ship it.
If I order all the things one at a time I have to pay a lot of shipping costs.
If anyone is willing to help. Thanks.
Alex
There are other members of the National De Soto Club and this
site who live in Europe. If any one else knew the Country that
you live in, then it is easy to direct you to a possible local source.
What kind of "Parts" are you looking for or need ?

The parts I need mentioned in the first topic.
Thanks
Alex
It appears that I lost track of that part.
If you are going to replace the Flexing Part of the
Brake Lines, it is Safer to the occupents of the
vehicle if all three are replaced at one time.

Alex, according to Peter who I believe is also in the Netherlands; has indicated that most of the parts you need are available from Andy Bernbaum. Bernbaum is on the Vendors' List off to your left as you read this. So it may be possible to get all of the parts from one place. I suspect you may have to get the complete tie rod but I believe I have seen the rubber seals for one of my cars sold separately - Deosto, I doubt.
You might want to consider that the parts you need are all wear items and they are not likely to be much better than what you have if you get them off a parts car. So to avoid the hassle of getting some old beatup junk, I would do as Peter said.
Alex,
During the restauration of my car i had a dutch contact in new jersey.
I could have him sent him seperate items inside the usa and he shipped the totaal in time to Holland.
Perhaps you have someone like that in your aqiuntances, mine moved to holland last year
Beware that when you buy articles the bill will not be above 100 dollar ( on paper )
because if above ,you have to pay import taxes about 16 %
I had very much support of Howard Payne the 1949 technical advisor of the club
He knows adresses and has may suggestions during the restauration.
good luck peter Boudesteijn
By the way during my restauration i have not found dutch adresses for parts
There are of course companies that will provided parts at a duble rate.
