I have a 56 DeSoto. Last year I was planning on redoing the brakes and bearings on all the wheels. I did the front last year and have started on the rears. After disassembling the rear brakes I have come to realize I have no idea how to replace the bearings. The manual says I need special tools to remove and replace the oil seals. Is there any way to jerryrig some tools that will get the job done properly without wrecking anything. I've never done rear bearings before, so I'm a little lost, but I'd like to get it done as long as I have the parts and have one wheel mostly apart. The manuals I've looked at also seem somewhat vague. Can anyone help me out? Also, how does one tell how much grease goes in the grease hole?
