Harms Distinctive Restorations Poplar Grove, Illinois 815-765-3090
This company is currently taking orders for new, not used, swan neck rear view mirrors for the cars that used them back in the day. They are exact duplicates. The base is even made to fit in that little four inch spot right in front of the window on both sides. Just to give you an idea on the cost, mine, for a 1940 S-7, will run me $450 a piece. It will take awhile for them to ship the particular one that fits your car. These are not mass produced, they make them when they are ordered. Woman that answered the phone when I inquired about them, told me the neck is made out of bronze. I told her that the originals from back in the day were prone to snap in the neck. This material gives it a stronger neck. Each mirror cost them $150 to be chromed. Knowing this makes the high cost pretty reasonable. There had been one other company making them but they bought out his molds and made improvements to them for their use.
When you call them they will ask for the model of the car it is going on.
These mirrors are not listed anywhere on their web site. You have to tell them that you want to order the Swan Neck Mirrors. I think I found this information in the latest WPC member magazine.
