I'm looking to purchase a DeSoto and wanted to ask members about the availability of a particular car--
The 1936 S1 Airstream Bus. Coupe .  I've seen the sedans for sale but not the coupes.  I know they built a lot less of the coupes.  I'd be interested in one and it doesn't have to be a show car, but would prefer a car that ran and didn't look like a nest of rats ate the interior out of it.  Maybe I missed the boat on finding one of these that isn't priced into the stratosphere?  I though maybe some members could provide some information that I might not be aware of.  I also have a love of the 1934 Airflow coupes but these, too I've discovered, are extremely rare and out of my price limit.  If only I knew 25 years ago what I know now but hind-sight is always 20-20.  Any suggestions/advice appreciated.

@stevemcmanus and @johnboyd do you have any input?

Ken - I forgot to mention in my email back to you that there is also the Airflow Club of America that would be a good resource for the '34 search. Many Airflow owners are members of both clubs and we have even had a joint convention before.

@davidfrank Yes, I did join the Airflow club.  That is where I learned that there are only 15 1934 coupes left in the world.  I thought I might have a better chance with the 1936 Airstream coupe, which is also a beauty(and has independent front suspension, which the Airflow did not) .  But I'm waiting for someone to tell me there are only 10 of those coupes left in the world. ????
