I have just bought a 1930 cf 4 dr.8 cyl.i want to do all I can to prevent damage.drained and replaced oil.should I pull the dist. And turn the pump,or use the oil pres.gauge line to pump air into the line?thanks
You can't pull the Dist.and turn the oil pump its gear
driven I would just unhook the coil and turn it over a few times
just to start the oil to the pump, then start it.
You can pull the plugs and give a few squirts of oil into the cylinders. Then spin it up a few times with the plugs out to circulate the oil.
When did it last run? It's a good idea to drop the oil pan and see what's going on in there. That will also allow you to scoop out 83 years worth of gunk.
Have a nice day
Steve
