Hi All,

I have a conflict between my service manual, master parts book, and several other reference books I have. From the time the first power brake booster came out until they moved it to the firewall there were two power brake boosters as far as I can tell. The Kelsey-Hayes model 120 and the Kelsey-Hayes model 130.

The issue I am trying to clear up is the size of the master cylinder used with the unit. NOT the slave cylinder bore size attached to the booster, but the master cylinder bore size.

One set of books tells me that it is 1 and 1/8 inch and another shows it as 1 and 1/4 inch.

The August 1949 master parts book shows TWO different part numbers for the pistons and the push rods. Other sources show only one. Dorman products shows one piston for both power and none power.

Is there anyone here that has rebuilt a master cylinder in a car with a factory booster and knows what the Master cylinder bore size is for a car so equipped originally?

Thanks, James
