That's my IPhone's "fault", Ed. I noticed it did that, and then when I clicked on the image it came up on the phone correctly oriented. Normally I'm pretty anal about that too, but I haven't had time to go through all the steps it would take to get them off my phone, edit them for size and orientation, and then repost.
It's supposed to be fun!
1949 De Soto Custom Convertible (project)
What a pleasant surprise!
In an earlier post above I mentioned I saw picture of a black 1959 DeSoto Firesweep 4 door sedan in one of the photos of the NDC Kalamazoo National and wondered if it might be one that my dad sold to a customer new in '59. As it turns out it is that very same car! How is that for a "needle in a haystack" story.
I spoke to the wonderful lady (Ruth) by phone that now owns the car and she confirmed how she obtained it, where, and when. She took first place with it in her class at the show. Wow! It really is a small world and sometimes we just get lucky. I'm just thrilled and about in a state of shock regarding this coincidence but it's really true.

Actually Fred it took best of class. As I said earlier, I judged that class and the car is indeed a very original survivor. There were some minor issues with hoses and hose clamps not being correct that I made Ruth aware of. We showed her the correct ones on another car and she is going to try to get that corrected. Not very much else wrong with it.
