I got a call about an hour ago letting me know that Bob Fox had passed away this morning. He had been doing well until just a few weeks ago. He needed hip surgery and things didn’t go well. There will NOT be any funeral – just like with his wife Mary – and his body is being donated to medicine. He would have been 97 if he had made it to his birthday on 20 April. When I find out more, I'll post it.
Bob, as you can tell from his very low membership number, has been in the NDC even before it was NDC. He and Mary were two of those in attendance at the very first Buckeye DeSoto Club meeting at Greg Walters' home in Piqua, OH. If I remember correctly, Bob was our Techincal Coordinator for the 1955 models for several years.
Bob was a salesman for his dad's dealership that sold De Sotos and other cars in Miamisburg, OH. The dealership building is still there and has been restored by some of Bob's nephews.

Bob was the kind of salesman that I wish I could have bought a dozen DeSotos from. He knew his stuff, he remembered you and things about you and he would do anything for you.
I met Bob and Mary almost 40 years ago. They welcomed me into their home and we talked Desoto. In 1978, after the birth of my daughter, Bob and Mary send me a personalized t-shirt for Nicole that said "I love Desoto" which we still have.
