Hey all.
I have been a member for a bit just so I could see all the forums, but I am thinking this is my first post. Sorry if these questions have already been answered but I looked and could not find what I need.
I aquired a couple of 56 Adventurers a few years ago. One is partially done and is in pieces. The other is mostly complete and is still mostly together in its original faded and rusty state. I just now put together enough money where I can start to think about putting one of them back together. I have most of the parts and the first one should be ez enough to put back together as I can steal anything I need off of the other one.
The engine has been rebuilt and painted. the body and most of the panels have also been painted. (Gold and White.) Problem is its been 15 years since it was done so lots of scratches and will need to be done again before I reasemble. So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have a good picture complete with paint codes of what the engine should look like? What should be flat or gloss black? The exact colour of the Gold with a paint code would also sure help? If a picture is not available then a description of the parts and their colour will suffice quite nicely.
2. Was the exterior of this car originally painted in enamel or laquer? Also paint code for the exterior would prove invaluable.
3. Did the 56 Desoto's use different automatic transmissions in Firedome and Fireflite models. My car is missing its tranny and I am trying to get one that is compatible. I have a line on a couple, just want to make sure it will work.
I have other queries, but these are the most important and I surely do appreciate if anyone is able to help me out with this.
Thanks very much;

I'll start with PowerFlite information.
The Standard OEM PowerFlite for S-23's ( 2 bbl 330 Cubed Engine ) was the "Air Cooled" Design and The Standard OEM PowerFlite for S-24's ( 4 bbl 330 Cubed Engine in De Soto's and 4 bbl 354 Cubed if in a Chrysler Division New Yorker and Chrysler 300 or the Imperial Division anything ) was "The Water Cooled" Design.
This means for The Adventurer's it was "The Water Cooled" because of the Engineered Strenght Desire.
