i'd like to remove the P/B booster can (oval type) on my 60 Adventurer for painting. I do not want to remove the whole assemble which includes the master cylinder. Can this be done without the inside of the can coming apart?
Thanks
Torry
Torry, I believe you can take the master cylinder off without everything coming loose in the booster. But I only believe, so why risk disturbing the booster? If you can take both the booster and master cylinder off at the same time - I would go that way. The master cylinder is always in more need of paint than most boosters. Of course, the master is not usually painted from the factory but it does clean things up some. Be aware that brake fluid will always be an enemy of the paint you may apply to the master.
You will have to bleed your brakes AGAIN if you already have done this and maybe that is the reason to remove the master. Just some thoughts.
