I'm restoring my 60 Adventurer and found the incorrect size brake shoes. The FSM calls for 11 X 2 1/2" wide shoes and mine are only 2".
I'm looking for some old shoes that can be used as a core, or might consider some new or relined ones too.
Would also like to score some New brake springs if anyone has a link to some.
Thanks! Greg
Try either Roberts Motor Parts in Mass or Andy Bernbaum, also in Mass. They had the necessary brake parts and springs for my 39. They are listed in the vendor section

You need to measure your drums. They also came in 12 inch.
Have a nice day

Greg,
You can also try Moose's Obsolete Brake Parts. Penngrove, Ca 707-792-9985. Jeff has parts that go around the brakes and he has the shoes as well.

They're 11" drums. Funny thing is I have a set of 12" shoes on the shelf. Lot of good they're going to do me.
What I'm hoping to find is just some old, worn out shoes for cores. I'm hoping to go with an upgraded lining material that will resist fade. The material is carbon metallic and will wear better, and like I said, reduce fade. That's the most important factor.
I did check online and the vendors mentioned have remanufactured shoes available, most likely in an organic material, so thanks for the leads. I haven't tried Moose's yet.
After the resto, I plan on showing it for a few years. Then I plan on driving it. I'm resisiting the idea of going with disc brakes because I want to keep the originality factor in play.
So if anyone has some 11 X 2.5" worn out shoes they'd like to unload, I'm a buyer.
