The regulars on here would be aware that Tim Bowers would be in the middle of this weather. Don't know if there are any others in that area. Post something if you can Tim and let us know if all is well.
Thanks for asking! We are fine. We sat in our basement for a while during a "warning" for the county, but there wasn't anything really close to us.
We were concerned for our high school kids that were at the prom, however. A bunch of them went up to Salina for dinner prior to the prom, and Salina was in line for a direct hit. Thankfully, that ended up not turning into anything, too.
We just saw on the news that the "preliminary report" for tornadoes in the 12 hour period from last night to this morning included 97 tornadoes in the state, where normally the number for the entire year is 57. They expect the number to go down, as multiple reports for the same tornado makes the preliminary report inflated.
A tense time for sure, but we're all thankful that within all those storms, there weren't any fatalities or significant injuries.
(edit) no fatalities in KS that I know of, that is. Sorry to hear that there were deaths in OK due to an apparent failure of the warning sirens in Woodward, OK.
It's supposed to be fun!

Hello Tim,
Good to see a post from you.
I'd been following the news down here off the coast of Brazil on the drill ship. We get CNN; saw the footage of baseball-sized hail coming down too. Quite impressive!
Happy to hear the good side of this not-so-great weather phenomenom there.
Ralph
Most Sincerely,
