I was just spending (killing) some blizzard time browsing www.copart.com website and happened by this auction at South Sacramento, California happening at 12PM PST on 1/27. The current bid is $2,150.00 as of this posting.
It is listed as: 1961 Chrysler DYN LE CN (whatever that is?) but in reality is a 1961 Adventurer 4 Dr HT. They list the VIN as 6113122553 which puts it close to the end of line.
Photos show it to be in original condition excepting the seat covers.
Hopefully, some NDC member will jump on this opportunity to get this one into the club.
Happy bidding, somebody!!!!!
Geoff
Just an FYI, you'l need to search for: 1961 CHRY DYN LE CN.
Also, you'll have to bid through a licensed salvage bidder. If you don't have a salvage license, you can set up a bidder through the Copart website. This may take some time so you'll need to start NOW!
I've done this before and it's fairly inexpensive.
Best of luck to any interested.
Geoff
Last year for Adventurer was '60. In '61, they were just called 'Desoto', with no model designation.

I stand corrected. I was mislead by the captioning of the photo in the Standard Catalog of Chrysler 1929-1990. I guess I should have known that.
Unfortunately, I was involved with a Webinaire during the auction and was unable to monitor the results. If anyone has any info on the outcome, please post on this site. Thanks,
Geoff
