We don't need a front plate either here in Kentucky. I've seen expired, vintage plates on the front of some cars here. No one seems to mind as long as there is a current, KY plate on the rear of the car.

Also (and this is kind of nifty) we may have a current, KY "antique car" plate, as well as a current, KY "personalised" plate. We just need to carry whichever plate that is not on the car at the time, somewhere inside the car. So for everyday fun we can use a "personalised" plate, but for the more "serious" shows, we can replace it with the "antique car" plate.

Very cool. I wish more states were like that. Maine isn't too bad though. We don't even need titles here after 25 years nor do we need inspection stickers as long as it's registered as an antique-vehicle.

How is titling old cars there? And what about salvage cars?
Do any of you have trouble with salvage titles for cars that are newer than 25 years old?

Ralph

Most Sincerely,

Hello All

Since The Topic has drifted To Year of Manufacture
License Plates i'll "jump in".

I have Colo 1947 Plates for our 47 De Soto. It is legal
in every state to do this with any vehicle which is over
25 years old.

The Printed Stat says that you must have Insurance on
the vehicle and any State of Colo Issued License Plate
to the said vehicle ( & the plates must always be current ).

It also says The YOM Plates can only be used for special
events. I figure any time I drive The De Soto it is an Special
Reason. In so, I have driven from here in COS to ReNo
for Hot August Nights and all over this area. This has been
the way it is since 1999.

So that I keep my "Other Colo Plates" with me I double
bolt them together.

I too do as others and point to The Tags.

Ralph, I'm not sure about the details regarding titles/salvage cars here in KY, but I think it's pretty hassel free from what I hear from others. There are rules, of course, but I've heard that some other states are more strict.

Our car was bought in Ohio and brought back to KY with very little trouble.
