at the Hershey Meet this year i put up a sign near the giant center stating:
desoto meet here at noon, all welcome.
the sign generated a group of desoto owners both thursday and friday. i used the opportunity to remind them of the club meeting on friday afternoon at 3 pm. several passers by asked for membership applications.
next year i'd like to try it again, but pick a spot in the car corral near a cooperative desoto for sale owner. desoto's for sale generally attract a crowd at the hershey meet.
it doesn't hurt to encourage new members to join and to help other desoto owners in their "parts search"
i was able to find most of the parts i was searching for during this years meet.
cheers, tom
Great idea, Thomas! Setting up near the Food Court wasn't a bad idea either!
It's nice to see the promotion of the DeSoto, as many folks "under a certain age" these days seem to have no idea what a DeSoto was. I think some of us also display informational literature, etc. when we are at shows, and that helps to spread the word too.
And congratulations on finding those parts that you needed; always something to celebrate!
