Does anybody know the specs on what the resistance is supposed to be on the coil resistor for the '56?

Going for the FSM now.....

Thanks,

It's supposed to be fun!

Tim,
Off the top of my head, remembering Ohms Law, you divide the current by increasing the resistance so if the resistor is 2 ohms, it would effectively reduce the electrical pressure from 12V to 6V.
What is the ohms reading on the existing resistor?
Geoff

Broken resistance wire.

The car still had the correct resistor, too. Not an aftermarket replacement.

My top notch counterperson at the local O'Reilly's says that their books call for a 1.2 ohm resistor for the '56 DeSoto

It's supposed to be fun!
