I forgot how to polarize a generator and it's been a while since I've polarized one at all. Has anyone recently done this to a 6-Volt, positive ground car?

Most Sincerely,

Follow-up:

This task is completed;

I installed new brushes and after re-installing the generator, polarized it by using a jumper and for just a split second touching the contact for the field off the generator to the - battery post.

Most Sincerely,
