You can get them from Moss Motors, the MG folks, in CA.

Partial success. Got clamps from Yearone.com. Radiator and heater clamps seem right size but bypass clamps too small. Outer diam of bypass hose is 1 5/8 and inner diam of clamp is just under 1 1/4 so it will not expand enough to fit. Seems a clamp for a hose with an outer diam of 1 1/2 to 1 5/8 would do. Been looking on eBay and nothing found. Bernbaum has no stock. I will call Yearone again and ask them to check measurement of what else they have. Will try Moss, too.

Thanks for all your suggestions in this continuing search.

I found a selection of clamps offered by Grangier. Have to buy in excess quantity, but not too expensive. Web address here below.

http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=s ... &FORM=HURE

Sizes 1/8 inch increments.

Another issue is the color. From Paul's photo I see that the clamps are silver or aluminum in color. The larger clamps from Yearone are yellow in tint and the small clamps for the heater hoses are black.

I will call Grangier next week.

The clamps are the color of the engine. You lightly sand and prime and paint the clamps.

Thanks for the info about painting the clamps. Sounds like a job for a warm spring day!

The only clamps that would be the color of the engine are the ones for the waterpump bypass hose. The reason for that is that the hose was installed prior to the engine being painted. Therefore, the bypass hose is also painted engine color.

The radiator, heater, low pressure power steering, and vacuum hose clamps were installed after the engine came out of paint and would be in their original finish.

Originally, the clamps came in a silver-cadmium finish. Many of the new clamps are now in gold-cad.

It's supposed to be fun!

Tim, you are probably correct on this. Many nuts and bolts were cad finished on my 53 DeSoto. It is difficult to tell the difference from the engine color. I believe only specialty places will even consider doing cad plating - probably worse environmentally than chromium but easier to simulate.
They will all look and function the same.
What new clamps are you referring to?

The new Corbin clamps that are the main point of the discussion?

Sorry Tim. I did not check Grainger, Yearone, or Moss to know that the after market clamps are Corbin clamps. I thought the discussion was about original style clamps and then it went to getting the right color.

We're talking about these nasty things, aren't we? I've never known them called as anything else; it's my understanding that they've always been called Corbin Clamps. I don't think that's new terminology.

I found this website for Corbin.

http://www.oldcarstuff.com/catalog/prod ... cts_id=331

Do not seem to have all sizes. Not clear as to finish. I cannot tell what given dimensions measure so would have to call.

I am going to Grangier tomorrow morning to order 1 5/8" clamps for bypass hose. That is the outer diameter of the hose.

Will paint the things this weekend and try to get them installed next week.

I never called them Corbin clamps and had never seen them called that before. They were just classic style wire clamps as far I was concerned. They are not bad if you have the pliers.

Those spring clamps were the standard thing on all MoPaRs when I worked at the dealer in the 70's. I never heard of them being called "corbin" clamps. We tossed them straight into the trash and replaced them with screw type clamps whenever we disconnected a hose.

Have a nice day
Steve
