It does but the headlight location is wrong for a 1936. They were mounted on the side of the radiator shell not on stands. !935 was on stands. What I think is it is a bit of 36 (sides of the hood) and mostly a 35.
Chris
In looking at the ornament, the radiator shell could be from a Plymouth.
Didn't Plymouth once use that design?
Maybe the front fenders, with those headlight locations, are from a Plymouth too?
There is a '36 Plymouth on ebay (auction ends in 30 minutes...9:35+- Thursday).
The front fenders, headlight locations and radiator shell look like what is
on the car the OP is interested in buying. The ornament is different though.
That means it's a Desoto, not Chrysler Desoto, right? Can I find somewhere a VIN decoder or something like this? I hope the metal plate will help me...
Take a look at classiccardatabase, com As long as you can get a vin number, you can use this to determine its actual year. Ya, it does look like it was a late 36.
Once you have bought this car, contact the Tech Advisor that specializes in that year. They are under Resources to the left column.
Most important thing to remember about your car is to sign up as a member if you haven't already!!
See you at our annual convention!
