Hello all!
Just thought I'd drop by and post an initial message. I've just joined the group.
This past December, I purchased a 1950Desoto Carryall from a great guy named Wayne Maddox in Commerce City (Denver), CO.
My gal and I haven't actually picked it up yet but we are planning to fly out with a box of tools and drive the Carryall home to Bucksport, Maine this spring (June perhaps at this edit).
I will post some photos of the car. Anyway, I would like to network up with some folks who may have some spare parts or know of sources of same. Alina (my gal) and I have done a similar trip last summer from Commerce City to our home in a '65 Rambler Marlin that hadn't run since 1978, and made it with little or no troubles, so we are excited about trying our luck again.
Thanks for reading and hope all are having a great winter so far. And Happy birthday to fellow member EvertvandenBerg.
Pictures will be posted in a few weeks.
Most Sincerely,
Ralph M Bohm

Hey Ralph, welcome to the club! You came to the right place. There are a lot of great people here with tons of DeSoto knowledge. If you plan on passing through KC on I-70 I'm not too far south so I can help if you have any problems. At the very least make sure you eat the best BBQ in the world. Sounds like a great adventure!

First person you may run into is Rodger R. He is from Colorado Springs, CO and will probaly be replying to this shortly!
Nice to meet you, Ralph!
Congratulations on the purchase of your DeSoto. I am looking forward to seeing the photos and hearing about your adventures.
Welcome to the forum!
If you join the club itself and get your hands on the membership roster, you can "DeSoto your way" home, with a list of names of people in the club that have identified themselves as especially able to help fellow club members that are out and about.
For instance, as you're heading east on I-70 coming into central Kansas, I have a truck/trailer that I could potentially be available to help in the event you need it. Plus a network of car nuts that can be helpful in the area, too.
It's supposed to be fun!
