Members of this forum have been so helpful in my efforts to bring my '58 Firesweep back to life and really appreciate all the help. Have another question now. Just found a NOS fuel pump but am sure it won't stand up to the alcohol in the fuel that we have to contend with now. Does anyone know of a replacement diaphragm that can handle the alcohol blend? Thanks so much

Bill

Are you going to install a new alcohol proof diaphragm in the NOS pump, or are you looking for another pump which will handle alcohol?...

Would like to install a new diaphram in my new pump, but if they are not available, would like a lead on a pump that can handle the alcohol. Thanks so much

Several of us car guys here in San Francisco send our fuel pumps and vacuum cans to TERRILL MACHINE, INC, 1000 County Road 454, DeLeon, TX 76444, (254) 893-2610.

The use a material that can stand up to Alcohol.

Because of the location of the Fuel Pump it is a very hard item to do some
"parking lot guru editing on". Why not just go to your local NAPA and get a
new one still in the box. You can even tell the clerk you have a 1970 something
383.

Roger, great idea, just assumed that they would not have one. Will stop by tomorrow. Thanks. Bill

Be careful. I have heard several reports from people in other clubs that they have gotten fuel pumps that are new but been on the shelf for 5 years and the old diaphragm material died after 6 months or so. Make sure the manufacture date is in the last couple of years.
