Anyone ever have an issue of the front ride height being too tall when they rebuilt a front end on a 1949 or 1950?
I am sitting 1-1/4 inch too high on both sides.
Same spring, same everything. Except a new set of spring silencers in the top. I am hoping that the tops of the springs are not seated all the way up and will set when I run it around the block for the first time.
If anyone has any thoughts, please share them...

give it a month or so it will settle down to the right height
I hope this works for you James, but I would not think the spring silencers have 1 1/4" to compress even if you had replaced the top and bottoms. I do not have a solution for you except that it seems you do not have the right part.

At a loss. The only thing I can think of is that the spring silencers are causing a binding in the ID so the spring is not all the way up in the top perch. I am hoping that once the car get moved around it will seat. I agree it is not a thickness or compression issue with the spring silencers.
It has the same spring and cpontrol arms so I cannot figure out how it can be different. I will see what happens after it gets driven.

James, maybe the end of the coil spring did not land in the right place on the cushion. Each cushion usually has two thicknesses to accept the end of the spring and one not to. It is intuitive but maybe it rotated when installed. This would not settle out or find its correct place. I am not sure but you may be able to see if they are in the right place.
