OK I am pretty sure it is a fluid drive. But there has to be some electrical wiring to the carb. This is not there. See attached pictures. Can anybody tell me what is missing? Do I have to replace the carb or just some parts?
And what are the colors of wires which belong there?
One yellow wire is near the carb, see picture, but don't know what it is for.

Alex, the anti-stall solenoid is missing. It screws onto the top of the carb. and has two blue wires that clip into it and there are wires going to the kickdown switch. that aren't there. It is really hard to tell what else is missing. You said the junction box that attaches to the air cleaner bracket isn't there so there might be a lot of the wiring missing. You're best bet might be to find a service manual, that would have a wiring diagram for the transmission, and figure out what all is missing.

it is easier for me to tell the fluid drive story
Ik heb een 49 met fluid drive.
Bij mij moet de hendel met ingetrapte koppeling naar boven terwijl je hem iets naar je toe trekt.
De twee vindt je door de handel naar beneden te bewegen.
de drie door de hendel weer in de neutral stand te zetten en dan weer naar beneden op dezelfde positie.
dat is gewoon schakelen.
de fluid drive gebruik je door hem in zijn eerste te zetten en dan gas geven , vervolgens het gas los laten tot je een klonk hoort dan zit hij in zijn twee.
Dan weer de handel met koppeling in zijn 3 naar beneden.
Je kan ook alleen zijn eerste, dan naar zijn twee handmatig en daarna met fluid drive naar 3

the gearbox attached to the bell house between the gearbox and this house you can see the clutch through an opening at the left side
the pris as from the gear box is in the bellhouse closed or looked with a seal ) sleeve type

het is een schoepenwiel dat in het bellhouse draait.
Daardoor schakelt de auto automatisch
de elektrische pulsen voor het schakelen gaan via de governor en solonoid verder is er op the versnellingsbak nog een interupter switch. daarom is de bedrading op deze 3 items belangrijk

Is that your car Peter? It looks very nicely done. Is it complete yet or is this a current photo to help Alexander? Nice job. There are wires for the governor and solenoid. My 53 is similar but I do not want to confuse the issue by sending 53 V8 photos.

Nice. Is it a 49? Now all you should do is help Alexander out. He could be your neighbor. I have a 53 and am not sure how similar the wiring is.
Alexander may want to check out RIwire.com. They may have the wire harnesses he needs to get from the carb down to the transmission. He also needs help in establishing exactly what devices he is missing from his carb. I aqm not sure you - Peter - showed that complete enough. I know there are a few photos and not really easy ones.
I don't have the junction box for my 47 either, does anyone know where to get one? I have never seen one on Ebay.

Paul P. , maybe earlier models don't have that box mounted on the air cleaner bracket. I was assuming because my 52 has it that all fluid drives have it. It is just a box where several wires are connected. I don't see it in Peter's picture either.
