Hi All,

Does anyone have anything DIFINITIVE on the factory colors for the flathead six engines 1946-1954? I know about the Chrysler silver. What I need to know is what about things like:

1. The Oil Pan.
2. The Oil Filler.
3. The oil Filler Bracket.
4. The "U" shaped motor mount.

Some people told me black and some silver.

Is there anything in the Club Judging Manuals about this?

Thanks, James.

you might need to contact the tech advisor for '46-'48 directly. His contact info can be found in the resources tab in the menu.

It's supposed to be fun!

I have most all of the original Ross Roy data books from 1937-1954 but I do not have the 46-48 books. I do have the 49 and the pictures in the book show the engine was silver including the oil pan and all the engine "accessories" starter, generator, oil filler cap, fan blade, breather pipe,
oil filter, air cleaner, spark coil, distributor, were painted black. The oil filler pipe and bracket are silver. The bell housing and transmission are also pictured painted silver. The U shaped motor mount is not pictured.
I hope this helps.
Chris

I'm aware of the Ross books, but haven't been exposed to them much. Are you describing a drawing or a photograph, Chris?

Hola James

Number's 1 and 3 are as already said --- The same colour as The Engine.

The Front Mount is also the same colour.

*
When installed/ used it appears as an leaning capital "A", with the "U-Bolts"
on each leg.

By the way, I think this is a perfect question to be answered in the FAQ forum.....
