Hi jason. Most dealers say you can't use petronix ignition with 6 volt pos. ground but Philbin products www.philbingroup.com phone 1800 869 1718 made one up for me for both my dodge and desoto. works great and never had to fool with it again. as for the rear drup, I'll bet desert valley auto parts out of phoenix has it and the key is common stock. should be available from napa or a machine shop. Get a manual to do the brakes cause they're wierd. Ps. do not grease the axle shaft when you reinstall the drum.

Pertronix makes the induction unit to replace the points for a 53 - not sure if they do for a 48/49. If they make this for a 53, I would think they would know they are dealing with 6 volts. I bought one for my 53 but ended up sending it to Sweden. I hope there was no 6 volt vs 12 volt glitches.

Not to long ago ( January-February ) driver's at

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/46-48Chryslers/ ,

look into it , remember the main part was the
eight cylinder engines and later the six's got
mentioned.
