Has anyone been able to locate where the gold is hidden at on these two cars listed on Ebay?
1956 Desoto Fireflite Sportsman for $9,850
1936 Desoto Delux Touring Sedan for $9,500
Value is always in the eye of the guy selling!! Hope they find a buyer.
I bought two 1947 Desoto Suburbans a few years back for $1,500 for both. I would list them at a three and a four. Working on the better one to get it running and drive as it sits.
The '56 does look to be a pretty solid car. I see optional padded dash, electric windows, and a rear speaker, but not much else out of the ordinary.
Since we work on these cars, I would say that a truly solid car has to be worth a bit of a premium. If a person were buying this car to have it restored, then it would be much more inexpensive to restore this car than a car that didn't cost as much to buy but was in much worse condition.
Having said that, maybe it's not worth THAT much of a premium....
It's supposed to be fun!
1949 De Soto Custom Convertible (project)
Well, it looks like the guy selling the 56 has found more gold on the car. His first selling period ended without anyone touching it. So he has relisted it again for a thousand dollars more so now it is listed at $10,500 instead of the $9,500. For that kind of money, you can find one in a lot better shape and that is running.
