Ok, so I have the uppers on there and they rule with thier little spaniard face and stuff you know. But the lower half is gross. I dont like cloth door panels, and I never did. My question is, im going to use mine as a template for diamond plate (will be anodized black of course) but is this something anyone already sells, or would be interested in?? Im going to go through a machinist I know out here and have him make them. And if he does good, ill tell him to save the templates incase you guys want some too.
What do you think??
Plus, what muffler will make the flat head sound best?? I work mostly with V8s, but a car is only as good as it sounds, and my exahust sounds flat and boring, plus its rattling from being so dang old and held in place with some vice grips! HAHAH!
Chris
I don't know about the door panels, but have a suggestion for a muffler.
When I was a kid we had a flathead six, and Dad put a Walker Blue Swinger long glass pack on it.
It sounded like an Italian sportscar. The best sound I have ever heard from a six.
The glass pack was about 30 to 36 inches long, a shorter one would probably be to loud.

Oh one more muffler comment.
You can get a pretty cool sound by splitting the exhaust maniford and making dual exhaust.
Don't split 3 and 3 though, we always split them 2 and 4 gives a much better sound.
Front 2 cylinders on one pipe, back 4 on the other.
Better have a friend that can weld cast iron.

I agree with Dane on the split exhaust and twin glasspacks. On the door panels, I think the diamond plate will act like big metal soundboards and make a lot of noise. Maybe you should try black vinyl on masonite if you don't like the fabric.
Have a nice day
