I need to replace differential gasket on my 1948 S11 as it is leaking. My mechanic asked if there was copper washers involved and if so, I would need to get them Does anyone know if there is copper gaskets to be replaced when doing this job?

I checked my 48 parts car and this is what I found. The pumpkin is held in with 12 3/8-1 NF bolts with lock washers. No studs, no copper washers. I didn't check every bolt so there may be one or two studs and nuts. I would use loctite on the threads since they do go all the way into the housing. You will be pulling both axles so have all those seals and of course clean and pack the bearings. I'd do the pinion seal also, and what the heck, why not service the u-joints?
