On our way west for the winter we exited at Ash Fork Arizona for lunch. Ash Fork would be gone and nearly is, if not for a highway crossing I 40. Cruising the "town" looking for a cafe, one, we discovered the DeSoto hair shop where some one held DeSotos in "HIGH" esteem. Sadly the hair shop went the way of DeSoto.
Oh wait maybe DeSoto is not gone we have NDC.
And by the way Thank you Tim B. for your attention to the posting problem.
We stopped there on one of our trips on Route 66 when the beauty shop was still in business. Route 66 goes through Ashfork and the shop is on the Route. Had a nice chat with the owner Edie Desoto. She said at one time she was giving away hats if you could guess what year the Desoto was but she stopped doing that. Shucks, I could have won a hat. It was out of business when we stopped there on our latest Route 66 trip last May.
