last year a 33 DeSoto sold for 78,000 and this year it seems the same DeSoto crossed the block for $33,000

I saw what I think was a '57 coming up on stage and Speed thought it was a good time to go look at what was out in the staging area or something, so they didn't even show it's sale.

It's supposed to be fun!

There was a 1957 Firesweep that was supposedly an original order hemi car, manual trans. The guy selling it put a 345 with 2-4bbls into it. They probably went to something else because they almost always say something wrong about De Sotos. Instead they'll show all the Mustangs and Corvettes since they have inevitably become experts on those.

Wouldn't get too excited about what does or does not happen at BJ. It's basically a reality show, in other words, not real.

For awhile I would DVR their auctions and fast forward through the crap and commercials and now I haven't even bothered the past couple of years. It was bad enough when they started advertising themselves as a "lifestyle event" and then when they came out with their own BJ car care products (Oh, I use the car wax developed by an auction house) and then their own classic car insurance it was time to completely to just ignore BJ for the crap that they are.

i live about 15 minutes from the BJ auction site. I have been to it many times and it is a great venue to see a lot of different cars all in one place. The lifestyle thing has no use to me and the recliners, Indian statues, gaudy jewelry probably all falls under the lifestyle scenario. It is not my lifestyle. I do not like to pay as much as they charge - they were getting a little too cocky. Also, I do not like their fees even though I have nothing to sell - it is more general principle. Also, the only way I can share my car is to put it into the auction - well I am not selling. You have to and they have to agree with your Reserve. I guess they may get too many cars otherwise. I will attend again because there are many interesting cars. It is the largest car show you will ever go to. So do not worry about all of the fluff and enjoy.
