I have been around cars for a while, but this is the first time I have had a DESOTO and with this Transmission. I have had Dodges and Plymouths of this vintage. It's not a three speed stick behind a Fluid Drive. It appears to be a (semi-automatic or a Gyro-Matic) I had only heard about this transmission, never seen or driven one. I would like to talk to someone who knows about it, how to drive it(properly) what oil it uses, I know the Fluid Drive unit uses 10 wt. non detergent, or ISO 32, but know nothing about what the transmission uses. There are a few drops of what looks like(generally atf, maybe contaminated with oil) that puddle up under the car near the back of the engine. We had the car into a mechanic to be serviced, and maybe he added atf to the Fluid drive, or not. He is supposed to know most models well enough
I can be reached thru this site or by phone at 360 427 1518.... Thanks .......GERRY
Hello All
Here is a link to a Owner's Manual ( I originally got this from another at a
National De Soto Meet ). This applies directly to any S-11 and can be used
with any De Soto with the same 6 Volt Positive Ground Electric's - The same
Fluid Drive/ M6 Transmission and a whole bunch etc's.
