Is there a Body Tag Decoder for Desoto on this site or anywhere on the net?

I'm trying to decode a 1954 Cowl tag...

Model/Body TP 22
Trim 375
Paint 369
Paint I believe decodes to
7047Arizona Beige Top (roof) and
7551-G Burma Tan Metallic Bottom (lower)

Thanks!!

Bob,

Your paint code 369 is correct as stated. The TP 22 indicates the car is a S-20 Powermaster six Club Coupe. The trim code 375 indicates the car had brown upholstery.

Hi, Thanks for quick response.

Are there examples/ pictures anywhere of what the 1954 interiors looked like? Either the materials themselves, or an example of the interiors in a car?

And/Or does anyone have a picture of what the 1954 trim #375 looks like?
And are those materials available in NOS or repro form?
I believe it to be two cloth materials, and not cloth and vinyl, but not sure. Thanks!!

Bob,

I have attached a depiction of the 54 Powermaster interior from a sales brochure. This shows a blue interior but it accurately depicts what your original two tone brown interior would have looked like. I believe you are correct in that the lighter and darker upholstery on the seats would have been cloth. There probably was vinyl trim on the back side of the back rest and surrounding the seat frame. The dealers probably had a fabric and paint selection book to choose from. I don't know if the club library has one or not.

I posted a picture of the Firedome upholstery from the brochure on Ben Lawley's recent post on "Interior Color". The brochure picture and what was left of his original upholstery matched up pretty well.

Hi Bob, im going through the same thing you are by the sound of it? Got any pics of what you have now? I dont think the powermaster / firedome interiors were to much different, maybe we can peice together a whole one!

Like Mac said he put a pic up from the sales brochure in this thread where i asked pretty much the same q, http://desoto.org/phpbbforum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3839&sid=1e51ffe27f81d514eb0922d87aa4a4e8

Theres also some photos there of what i have, which at some stage have been recovered (lower front seat and complete rear seat) but the upper front seat is original. I dont yeet have the car of the container so am not sure wether my original interior is under the aftermarket seat covers.

Ben
