As I look at the convention dates and location, I am wondering about the drive there without air conditioning.
Assuming I get all the other issues taken care of, what has been the recommended solution for retrofitting a 1956 Firedome with Air Conditioning? How successful and how expensive?
thanks

For The 1956 Imperial Division to have an OEM
A/C was very near $1,600 added to the vehicles
cost. I am not sure what an 1956 De Soto Price
was.
Because of the purchase price most folks used
the Passenger Door Mounted Swamp Cooler.
This item could be seen up to the middle 70's
even on 1970'ish cars.
Today these are an very sought after item for driver's
West of The Mississippi. Look around here to get an
idea ... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cp=1 ... 8QTb56GUAQ
When A/C became "affordable" they were sold as an
Under The Dash Attachment ( add-on ) for the same
vehicles.
If you arrive at the Convention "as is" we will all still
be happy to see ya.
